Mission

The goal of the club is to encourage students to be sustainability leaders within their school and community.

Club activities will fall in the areas of saving energy, conserving water, recycling or using resources efficiently, improving indoor air quality, and improving our school site and the natural environment.

Parents, please read the club rules before signing up your child.

Club Rules
This year the club will offer 4 separate sessions, one each quarter. Students may only sign up for one session, but may be put on a waiting list if the other sessions do not fill up. All sessions are free and open to all grades, but require parent participation. This year's sessions are:

Say it Green Sept. 16 – Oct. 28: Make signage for anti-idling, water conservation, recycling, composting, etc. Research conservation tips for PTA weekly newsletter, possibly make videos to show at school.

Make it Green Nov. 4 – Jan. 20: Making things from unwanted items, bottle cap art, paint food tubs for flowerpots (may give plants to teachers), and ornaments.

Conserving Green Feb. 3 – March 24: Participate in the Cool Schools Challenge to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas emissions school-wide by convincing your teachers to reduce electricity use at school.

Outdoor Green April 7 – June 9: Review schoolyard habitats and biodiversity at Wiley, work to improve and document what we have. Build birdhouses/feeders.
